Women's Renaissance Gowns
Well dressed women of the Renaissance Era typically dressed in three layers: a chemise, an underdress, and an ornate overdress. The overdresses were sewn from the finest fabrics - often silk or velvet - and could be very elaborate in style. Renaissance colors were strong - deep blue, wine, dark green, and black. After 1550 brighter colors made their appearance as accents or part of the entire ensemble. Many of our gowns feature faux pearls, hand-sewn beads, lace and jeweled accents.
