Unlike the present, when it is possible for a lady to wear one costume all day and only change accessories to look fashionable in the evening - upper middle class ladies in earlier periods had a wide variety of outfits for different occasions. She would need gowns for the morning, afternoon tea, visiting friends, for dinner, and for receptions and balls. The evening gowns were made from the finest fabric and trim that she could afford. We offer a variety of rich fabrics including satins, velvets, taffetas, and cottons that are trimmed in eye-catching laces, beautiful beads, and ravishing ruffles - truly delightful!  Most of our gowns are made when you place your order. Please plan ahead and allow about 5-6 weeks from the time you place your order until it arrives on your doorstep.
